Dental Bridges

What is a dental bridge?

A bridge is a restoration used to replace one missing tooth or a couple of teeth that are missing in a row. The restoration creates a bridge over the gap left by the missing teeth, restoring the function, appearance, and health of your smile. A traditional dental bridge is composed of two dental crowns and one artificial tooth, or pontic. Our dentist will place the crowns on the dental implants or natural teeth adjacent to the gap, anchoring the pontic in place. Dental bridges are fixed (non-removable) restorations, so you will not need to worry about it easily shifting or coming loose when you chew, eat, speak, or laugh. Bridges are also natural-looking restorations because they are made from impressions and molds of your teeth. You can rest assured that your bridge will blend in naturally with your smile.

Do I need a bridge?

Dr. Dinh may suggest a bridge if you have lost one or more teeth in a row. A dental bridge can help to restore your smile’s appearance, improve your ability to eat and speak as usual, prevent the remaining teeth from shifting, and restore the volume and shape of your face.
