Family Smile Center has great news! Dr. Dinh can now officially offer Invisalign® orthodontic treatment to finally give you the smile you have always wanted.
Invisalign teeth aligners are essentially a removable set of braces made from durable, clear plastic. They continue to grow in popularity and availability as an alternative for adults that might feel self-conscious when using traditional braces.
The aligner trays are custom made to fit your teeth and personal bite pattern for maximum comfort. Each set of aligners is designed to be worn for around 2 weeks. You will need to wear the aligners for at least 20 hours each day. After two weeks, you will switch to a new set of plastic aligners. Over time your teeth will gradually conform to the new alignment. In most cases, the total treatment can take from six to 12 months. However, it really depends on each individual.
Even though you can drink normally while wearing Invisalign, you will need to make a conscious effort to remove the aligners before eating. Biting down on anything hard can damage the plastic aligners. This would require a replacement set to be made, which would increase the total duration of the treatment.
Be sure to maintain your optimal oral hygiene regimen of brushing and flossing through the duration of the realignment process. Rinse the braces with an antiseptic mouthwash that has received the ADA Seal of Acceptance to help reduce any bacterial build up.
